Our Milne Bay Sea Women team have been working closely with SWoM trainee and local landowner Roselyn Elijah and her community at Tewa-Tewa Island to map their Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA) and develop their LMMA Management Plan. This is a large LMMA with significant biodiversity, and the reef community here is representative of the coral atoll systems of the Louisiade Archipelago. These communities have limited access to medicines and freshwater, so humanitarian aid is a key part of our support package.
