TETEPARE
What we do
Tetepare Island is one of the most important conservation sites in the Solomon Islands, with no permanent inhabitants since the 1850's. The island has never been subject to commercial logging, and it has both pristine rainforests and coral reefs. Our team conducted a SWoM training program for 6 Solomon Islands women at Munda in late 2019, in partnership with Dive Munda, and two female landowners Rendova Island with clan connections to Tetepare Island, Tina Leah and Ellice Durix took part. After the completion of the program, Tina and Ellice led two survey expeditions to Tetepare to collect reef monitoring data.
